The Revolution is a portable audio amplifier for headphones and small PC speakers. It also functions as a 2 channel audio splitter so you can share music and movies with a friend. The Boostaroo Revolution has a Patent Pending audio crossfeed circuit that increases the dynamic range of audio providing the user with higher highs, clearer mids, and better bass. Many Boostaroo Revolution users have happily stated that it gives them a sense of being in a recording studio. The Revolution will even slow the battery drain of your audio player since the player does not have to do the heavy audio work. With the Revolution, you can enjoy up to three additional hours of playing time. Thats important when you cannot recharge your audio player or replace the batteries.
BR> The Boostaroo Revolution is very easy to connect to your portable audio player. Think of it as an extension of your headphones. Simply plug one end of the included 3.5mm audio cable into the output of your portable player, and then connect the other end of the audio cable into the input of the Revolution. All thats left is to plug your headphones or small speakers into one of the Revolutions two outputs and youre good to go. The Boostaroo Revolution will last for up to 40 hours of continuous play, at normal listening levels, on its 2 AAAA batteries (Which are included). AAAA batteries are inexpensive, and more commonly used for bluetooth headsets and pen lights.

This works great with the XM reciever i use through the AUX input on my car stereo - the difference in quality is unreal!
It is NOT needed for MP3 players or IPODS if you have a Ipod car charger with a line out feature that uses the USB out instead of the headphone jack. If you have to use the headphone jack, then this is a good buy.
The worst complaint is the battery compartment as it is terribly difficult to open and I am sure I am going to break it (the compartment) some day. AAAA batteries are pretty hard to come by and you have to get them online for a good deal.
This is great for satellite radio units and anything where you need to use the headphone jack.

I bought this unit because my car stereo has an AUX port, but the sound quality from my plugged-in media device was too low to be able to listen to without distortion from having to turn up the volume too high on both to hear well. A world of difference this unit makes. The unit does a great job of boosting the sound from my media player, enabling me to comfortably listen in my car without distortion or sound loss. It did take a few minutes to discover the right media player volume setting to maximize sound quality output and balance it with the car stereos volume for meaningful volume adjustment. I only have one very minor issue with the unit. The unit is "On" whenever a stereo plug is inserted into the top "in" port, not whenever a media player is attached. As the unit sits in my car, the extra step of disconnecting the cable from both the media player and the Boostaroo is needed or else the batteries drain overnight. All in all, a perfect solution to my car audio problem.
