This is a pretty cool little charger. It has a very long cord on it, so you can get to the USB ports on a tower that sits on the floor very easily.

I was confused about how the red lights on the thing worked, and couldnt find any information. But after observing the charger in action for a while it was clear that the lights go out when the charge is complete.

Quick charge takes a few hours to charge two AA batteries, a bit longer for the AAA.

I have purchased this recharger because I have a bluetooth travel mouse with my laptop. It goes through batteries like crazy.
Pros: This recharger at least allows me not to worry when I am on the go and need my AAA batteries recharged.
Cons: The plastic lid is not holding secure and always trying to fall off.

The Tripp Lite IN3006CG Notebook/Laptop Rapid Recharger for AA & AAA Batteries USB LED sat there with its red indicator lights on for DAYS. Nothing got charged. I sent the first one back thinking we had a faulty model. A second model was sent to me, and it did the same thing. What really fried my beans was the fact the thing did not come with directions of any sort.

One Amazon.com user put up some directions as he or she figured out to use a model, but that is just really shoddy on behalf of the manufacturer not to enclose directions of any sort in the package.

I sent both models of Tripp Lite IN3006CG Notebook/Laptop Rapid Recharger for AA & AAA Batteries USB LED back to Amazon.com for a refund. Good riddance!

This is definitely a cheaply made product. Mine arrived yesterday with the LCD DOA and nearly falling out of the top lid. Fortunately, though, you can still use the unit as it has four LEDs that show the status of the batteries. The only thing you cant see is whether or not the batteries are bad because the red LED is the same for bad or fast charge (at least thats what their product description shows). My only other gripe is that the fan runs constantly, even in trickle charge, and I would question the need for "constant on" in that mode. (If the fan is as cheap as the LCD, Im afraid it will fail quickly if left on constantly.)

Despite the complaints, the unit does a good job charging and my first set of batteries discharged and recharged overnight with no issues. Ill likely keep the unit despite the dead LCD and replace it with a better quality unit (from another company) once this one goes kaput. If I only get 20 or 30 charges out of it, its still cheaper than buying new sets of batteries!

Since Amazon allows only full stars I gave this three but Id rate this 2.5 stars out of 5.

This charger is so versitle since it does several types of batteries as well as multiple batteries. We purchased it to use for the office camera and other items and it has been a time saver.

This charger has some good features that are hard to find in a charger but it is somewhat cheaply manufactured and a bit flimsy. Its probably not a good choice for people who are hard on their equipment (kids etc). Mine arrived with the LCD screen hold-down screws stripped out of their plastic holes and the screen would not function.

It can charge 1 to 4 AAA/AA/C/D batteries at a time or two 9 volt. It charges my AAs in about 3 hours. It has a fan that cools the charging batteries (not loud for those who care about noise). It has a discharge battery function to drain NiCad batteries and prevent memory problems but this feature drains all 4 ports at the same time so if you want to charge a NiMh battery while you drain a NiCad, youre out of luck. It gives a rough readout telling how charged each battery is but its not very accurate.

It has a feature that supposedly tells you when a battery is bad, but it doesnt really work I placed 3 batteries that I knew were bad (they only hold about 30 seconds of flashlight power) and it did not report any of them as bad - just said they were fully charged in about 5 minutes.

The main unit measures 7.5 x 5.5 x 3 inches. Its wall-plug DC converter is narrow but long (3.5 x 1.5) so it only takes up one outlet when plugged into a lower wall socket or a horizontal outlet bar. The converters cord is approximately 6 ft long.

A note on its box says it is better to charge batteries of the same capacity in each charging process so if you mix and match battery sizes frequently, there may be some side effect.

Overall, Im happy with it. Its ability to charge each battery separately (instead of 2 at a time like most chargers) and the cooling fan were enough to make it worth it to me.

The Tenergy T6278 Universal Intelligent Battery Charger is one of the smarter chargers on the market. I bought two chargers over the holidays and a bunch of rechargeable batteries (AAA,AA,C,D,9V). Rechargeables are greener than buying dozens of alkalines over the year and throwing them away when theyre depleted.

Some chargers only charge AA/AAA batteries this one charges C,D,9V sizes as well. The charger looks and feels solid, although the door release button feels gummy -- I have to hold down the side of the charger when pressing the button for the door to pop open. The six LEDs atop the charger are bright the 2" x 1" LCD panel actively displays bar graph charge levels for 4 charging cells, whether the cell is BAD (no voltage/no current drawn), when trickle charging=OK. For each battery, the bar graph fills in a downward direction if discharging, upward for charging.

The LCD display is readable, but theres no LCD indication for the 9V port. Also, the LED for the 9V will not change color when charging is done. I found that the charger will discharge batteries while it charges other slots: Place batteries to discharge into the charger first, press the discharge button to start discharging these Second, insert the batteries to recharge into the other slots -- these will start charging at the same time.

This charger has a mini-fan on the side that draws air from the opposite side of the charger over the batteries to cool them during the charging process it runs as long as the unit is plugged in, even with no batteries inside. The batteries get very slightly warm with the cover closed, so I guess the fan is ok. This charger monitors the battery voltage during charging when fully charged, the voltage in the battery will actually drop by a tiny amount (Delta-V) over a very short time. This is the preferred stop-charging indicator. The charger senses this and switches to trickle charging to top off the batterys charge until its removed. Its supposed to have a safety timer in case a battery is charging for too long, but Ive never tested this.

This chargers use of the Delta-V measurement is better than cheaper ones that use a timer to stop charging process -- not all batteries will fully charge given a fixed amount of time -- some may overcharge -- and not all batteries are the same.

In my profession as an airline pilot, we are required to carry a flashlight in the flight bag. I have used several brands in the past 25 years and purchased this for that purchase. After playing with it for a few weeks, Im sad to report it has been re-located from the flight bag to the bedroom nightstand (next to the Glock). Its not one major problem that caused its demotion, its just that the flashlight I carry now, the Fenix P3D, which has been discontinued and replaced with a different model, is a far superior product for the money comparisons. In addition to the website eplanation, the Fenix has an emergency stobe light function which is visible for miles.

The Duracell light, while a good light, just cant compete. And for the money difference, (the Fenix was $67), it is far superior and definitely more than twice the flashlight. The only advantage of the Duracell is that it runs on common AAA while the Fenix uses the more expensive and harder ro find 123s.
But for a good around the house flashlight, the Duracell is fine. I just think you can get a good flashlight at Home Depot for a better price.

Really bright light. However it could do with a few upgrades. It used 3 AAA batteries held in a plastic caddy. Wouldnt 2 C cell batteries provide more power and last longer (not sure if theres an issue with the voltage from 2 C cells verses 3 AAA cells). Duracell also make the Ultra 123 version which is twice as bright. Though Amazon didnt stock it when I bought this.

I really like the AAA daylite, its ridiculously bright, and the bottom on/off button is a nice change of pace to the standard on/off head twist of comparably sized maglites which are no where near as bright. It feels heavy and durable in my hand, though I suspect slightly less durable then a maglite. However, I have no idea about durability of an LED vs the bulb technology in a maglite so it very may well be equally or more durable. If you want BRIGHT and durable its worth the extra ten bucks.

Simply put, "hybrid" NiMH rechargeable batteries, such as these Duracells, are the best rechargeable batteries ever created. These batteries will last a long time in demanding uses like a digital camera, yet have a long shelf like so they wont be dead every time you pull them out if you only use your devices infrequently. Ive used the AAA and AA sizes and both work just as well. My Energizer 15 minute charger has no problem recharging these batteries in under 15 minutes. If you go through a lot of batteries, these will save you a lot of money as well as not cluttering up the landfill.

This is how batteries should be made!

Pros:
-For a rechargeable battery, these batteries does not need to be charged before you use it for the first time right from the packaging into your gadgets.
-They last a long time. I use it on my portable speakers which has been playing in loud volume for many weeks.
-Does not need special charger. You can use your existing NiMh charger.

Cons:
-Just like what NLee mentioned (above). You can confuse them with regular Duracells and mistakenly thrown away after losing charge.
-This later technology is still expensive. I got them on sale from Safeway for 11$ Normally sold at 14.99$

I also like Eneloops by Sanyo. But they are not easily available at your local stores.

These batteries are great. They hold their charge up to a year and they perform well in high drain devices. My one gripe is the price. I am not sure they really save people much money considering that they only last about three years total and regular AAA bats are soooo much less expensive.
